Barrow Island is a remote island located off the northwest coast of Australia.
Barrow Island, situated 50 kilometers off Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The island, spanning 202 square kilometers, is not only an environmental sanctuary but also holds strategic importance for its significant oil and gas reserves, contributing to Australia’s energy sector. Chevron operates an LNG processing facility and workers accommodation village, Butler Park that can cater for a workforce of up to 1,500.
Norwest was engaged in 2021 by Ertech as part of a Butler Park accommodation renovation program in which Ertech, as principal contractor to Chevron, would fully renovate workers living quarters including bedrooms and all common areas. Norwest provided painting, wallpaper and floor vinyl installation services for 660 rooms 24 laundries, 32 hallways and 2,000sqm of communal areas. An additional 330 rooms received painting services.
In 2023 Norwest was also engaged by Downer and provided painting, wallpaper and flooring services for the full renovation of the approx. 2,000sqm Butler Park Diner featuring a kitchen, meals and bar area accommodating up to 500 guests. Also Norwest successfully delivered painting and vinyl graphic services for one of Butler Park’s gyms in 2024.
